If any of these sound familiar, this event is for you!
This is NOT a formal seminar or a stiff study session. Come hang out, grab a drink, and have a relaxed chat ♪ Not confident in your Japanese. No worries at all. Everyone is welcome, including those from overseas!
How This Event Came to Be
We often heard people say things like, “I would love to join if there were an event like this,” or “I’m not confident in my Japanese, so it’s hard to attend events.” Hearing these voices inspired us to organize this meetup.
The organizer has also experienced feeling anxious because of a language barrier when attending a gathering held entirely in English. At that time, someone kindly stepped in and quietly helped interpret, which made them feel that I was not alone.
You don’t have to be perfect in a language to connect with people. This meetup was created with the hope of providing a welcoming and comfortable space where everyone can feel at ease.
I will use a translation tool for some parts, but I will interpret for you in English and other languages! People from abroad are also very welcome! I understand a little English and Korean.

Located in the central part of the Echigo Plain, at the mouth of the Shinano and Agano Rivers, Niigata City is the only government-designated city on the Sea of Japan side of Honshu. The city has well-developed transportation networks, including an international airport and expressways, and is conveniently accessible from Tokyo—about two hours by Shinkansen (as fast as 89 minutes!).
In the city center, large commercial complexes stand alongside historic streets that reflect Niigata’s heritage as one of Japan’s five historic port-opening cities. The traditions of the port town, including its geigi (geisha) culture, are still preserved today.
Surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes of the sea, mountains, and rivers, Niigata is a city where you can enjoy both lively urban life and the relaxed charm of the countryside.
